The research data reflects construction cost over the past few years.

New Construction: Range from: $ 85 to $115 per square foot
Architecture/Engineering Fees: Range from: 7% to 9% of total cost
Other Fees:(geotechnical/testing) Range from:$47,000 to $60,000
Furniture and Equipment Range from: $7 to $8 per/sf or 10%to15% of total cost
Contingency Range from: 3% to 10% (lower as cost is known)
Technology (cabling network)  Range from: $5 to $8 per square foot

Remodel/or Expansion of Facilities costs is about the same as new construction, without some of the Other Fees.

The cost for: Land, Utilities, Roads, Drainage and etc. would be additional cost to each project.

The Square Foot per Student range from: 120-sf/per student to 180-sf/per student

Inflation cost for Construction over the last few years has been: 7% to 11 %per/year

2002-2003

@ Cost of proposals made by Current Facilities Committee (Plan #1).

One of the proposals is to build a new High School with a capacity of 2000 to 2200 students.

The cost for a new High School of this size (@ 325,000 sq.ft.) would be @ $29 million dollars.

The Land, Utilities, Roads, Drainage and etc. would be additional cost.

The Proposed Campus Improvements will cost @ $ 1.8 to $ 2.5 million dollars.

The Technology Needs cost will be @ $ 4.6 million dollars. (Over 5 years)

This would make the total School Bond @ $ 35 to $ 38 million dollars.

Alternative:

Build a @ 80,000 sq.ft. Building for Band, Choir and Drama classes.
(Add new class rooms to old Band, Choir and Drama area in main building.)

This building would be West of the existing Band, Choir and Drama rooms and have a cover
Walkway from main building.

Build Field House for High School Athletics.

The cost of these buildings would be @ $ 1 million dollars.

Build a new Junior High School with a capacity of 1200 students. (6th,7th and 8th Grades)

The cost for a  new Junior High school of this size (@ 150,000 sq.ft.) would be @ $15 million dollars.

The Land, Utilities, Roads, Drainage and etc. would be additional cost.
(If the land on FM 2920 was used this cost would be low.)

The Proposed Campus Improvements will cost @ $ 1.8 to $ 2.5 million dollars.

The Technology Needs cost will be @ $ 4.6 million dollars. (Over 5 years)

This would make the total School Bond @ $ 20 to $ 22 million dollars
