Junior High serves seventh and eighth grade
students with a curriculum designed for successful student transition into
high school. All WJH students must register for language arts, math,
science, social studies, and electives that include choices in fine arts,
foreign language, business, vocational, wellness, physical education, and
athletics. Students have the opportunity to earn as many as five high school
credits by participating in the comprehensive academic program. A wide range
of special programs for the gifted as well as for the disabled is also
available. Technology is being integrated into all subject areas and four
computer labs facilitate technology literacy for all students in the
school. WJH students actively participate in U.I.L. academic and
athletic competitions, and the school has won the District UIL Academic
Championship for two of the past three years. WJH has an extensive After-School Program
that offers academic and enrichment opportunities, and a skateboard park was
constructed in 2003-2004.
