Congratulations
Bulldogs, Thank You Waller from Superintendent McReavy
Friday, Dec. 7 was a true Waller
ISD community event as over 6,000 Bulldog fans made the short trip to
the Berry Center in Cypress to support the WHS Bulldogs in their first
appearance in the state quarterfinals/regional finals in 25 years.
Before the Bulldogs and the Dayton Broncos kicked off at 7:30 p.m.,
I was honored to be a part of this district as the WHS Air Force JROTC
honorably presented the colors, the chorale beautifully sang the Star
Spangled Banner, and the state-qualifying band elegantly played the
school song. All those who were a part of the event; players, coaches,
trainers, cheerleaders, drill team, AFJROTC, Maroon Men (flag
men/cheerleader and drill team assistants), band, chorale, ball boys,
and especially the fans; represented what can only be described as true
Bulldog Pride. The community support (over 6,000 strong), noise, energy,
and excitement was truly overwhelming.
The phenomenal players and fantastic coaches displayed
sportsmanship and class throughout the game. They went in at halftime
down 21-0 and came back with vengeance in the second half to tie the
game 21-21. Though they were not able to take the lead and fell 28-21
when the clock showed zero at the end of the 4th quarter, I
could not be more proud of the team effort and outstanding playoff run.
I want to sincerely thank everyone for taking part in the Bulldogs’
2007 season and congratulate everyone involved.
I would especially like to recognize the senior leadership we will
miss at game time next year: Stephen Williams, Dexter McKee, Brandon
Goebel, Jeremy Phillips, Seth Cooke, Austin Allen, Eddie Brown, Joplo
Bartu, Andrew Simon, Jerrad Jefferson, Byron Abs, Johnny Camacho,
Jermery Luckett, Robert Nicholson, Trevor Berry, Jonathan Base, Jacob
Dodd, David Hunter, Josh Poyer, Carlos Portillo, Justin Arce, Kennedy
Vongphakdy, Kenny Wendt, and Clayton Kiesling.
And to returning players, we look forward to another historic
season in 2008! The Bulldogs hope to have even more fans come out and
support them as they move in to the new Bulldog stadium!
Congratulations to the 18-4A Division II State
Quarterfinalist Waller Bulldogs! We are proud of our Bulldog Champions
and their winning 10-4 season!
Sincerely,
Richard McReavy
Waller ISD Superintendent
