SMS trombonists enjoy
clinic and concert by Davis, Reichenbach. Feb. 10 members of the
beginning trombone class at Schultz Middle School (SMS) had a great time
meeting and enjoying a clinic and concert by professional trombonist
Mike Davis and Bill Reichenbach. The SMS trombonists were the youngest
at the clinic and took a front row seat to take in what was being said
especially when the clinicians spoke directly to them. Davis is hailed
as one of today’s premier instrumentalists in the studio and on the
concert stage, for some of the entertainment world’s biggest stars
including the Rolling Stones, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Nelly, Bob
Dylan and Michael Jackson. In the field of education, he has served as a
clinician around the world, while also authoring a number of highly
esteemed instructional books and band arrangements for musicians of all
ages and abilities. Reichenbach is best known as a musician for
television, films, cartoons, and commercials. He has recorded with
Quincy Jones, Barbara Streisand, Elton John, Al Jarreau, Buddy Rich, and
countless others. He has recorded over 500 movie sound tracks including
recent releases “I am Legend”, “Dream Girls”, “National Treasure 2”,
“Charlie Wilson’s War”, and many others. He has been recorded on more
than 800 CD’s. Pictured (L-R) are Cameron Kies, Isaac Sedillo, Mike
