White selected to
All-Region Treble Choir
Jan. 19, nine Waller Junior High
(WJH) choir students competed at the Region 27 Junior High Choir
Auditions held at Goodson Middle School. This competition consists of
choir students from several neighboring school districts including
Cypress Fairbanks, Brenham, Bellville, Sealy, and Spring Branch. Each
student had to learn three assigned audition pieces. The Region
selections are always difficult and most of the preparation took place
either after school or at home.
There were several hundred (700 plus) students competing for a spot
in the All-Region Junior High Choir, but only 160 voices were
selected. All WJH choir students competed well, but one student was
selected to sing in the All-Region Treble Choir. Congratulations to
eighth grader, Kayla White! This is the highest possible accomplishment
a junior high choir student can achieve!
White will represent WJH at the All-Region Junior High Choir Clinic
and Concert Feb. 22 and 23. The All-Region Concert will be held at
Cypress Ridge High School in Houston Feb. 23 at 5 p.m.
Other WJH choir students who competed were eighth graders Haley
Doucet and and Ashley Legan; and seventh graders Carolyn Lopez, Bryce
Louviere, Bailey Robinson, Hallie Sessum, Richard Sirmans, and Jessica
Watts. |
