ISD Counselors celebrate National School Counseling Week Feb 4-8
Waller
ISD school counselors celebrated National School Counseling Week,
sponsored by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) Feb. 4–8.
National School Counseling Week highlights the tremendous impact that
counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan
for a career.
School counselors can have a great impact on students by being
actively engaged in helping students examine their abilities, strengths,
interests and talents; for working in a partnership with parents as they
encounter the challenges of raising children in today's world; for
focusing on positive ways to enhance students' social/personal,
educational and career development; and working with teachers and other
educators to provide an educational system where students can realize
their potential and set healthy, realistic and optimistic aspirations
for themselves. In addition to these functions, many WISD counselors are
actively involved in successful testing on campus.
Waller ISD would like to recognize and thank all of its schools
counselors for their hard work and dedication; they are invaluable.
WISD counselors are Lois Faigle (Holleman Elementary), Cynthia
Barton (Jones Elementary), Penny Cathcart (Fields Store Elementary),
Mireya Lara (Roberts Road Elementary), Sandy Stelter (Roberts Road
Elementary), Christy Smith (Schultz Middle School) (SMS), Holly McLean (SMS),
Julie Schuller (SMS Counselors’ Secretary), Lynna Berry (Waller Junior
High), Kimberly Walker-White (Waller Junior High), Judith Barnes (Waller
High School) (WHS), Donna Cox (WHS), William Morgan (WHS), Tracy
Pershall (WHS Counselors’ Secretary), and Alice Stewart (WHS
College/Career Placement Coordinator).
Please take a moment to thank these individuals for the incredible
contributions to the success of Waller ISD. |
