WHS crowns Mr. Valentine 2008

Feb. 7, 18 of Waller High School’s (WHS) senior men took the auditorium stage in true pageant fashion doing choreographed dances and strutting their stuff to become WHS’ Mr. Valentine and earn a place in the Mr. Valentine calendar. The night was full of fashion, talent, and fun as the guys battled it out for the 12 calendar spots competing in personal interview, casual wear, talent, and evening wear categories. (Talent was a non-judged category.)
     With only 12 spaces available, competition was tough, but Austin Allen, escorted by fellow senior Jordan Jackson, stole the show to become Mr. Valentine (February) 2008.
     Those earning the remaining 11 spots in the calendar were Mr. March Jerrad Jefferson escorted by Crystal Hodges, Mr. April Keagan LeBlanc escorted by Jessie Berry, Mr. May Javid Johnson escorted by Shay Mock, Mr. June Edward Martinez escorted by Christine Torres, Mr. July Jeremy Phillips escorted by Ashley Simmons, Mr. August Andrew Simon escorted by Jennifer Bremer, Mr. September Darrell Hudson escorted by Morgan Davis, Mr. October Seth Cooke escorted by Kelsi Loewe, Mr. November Trevor Barry escorted by Michelle Hackler, Mr. December David Hunter escorted by Meghan Kulhanek, and Mr. January Ryan Phelan escorted by Ashlee Burzo.
     Other pageant competitors were Juan Amaro escorted by Amy Beebe, Anthony Lambuth escorted by Staci Lowler, Brandon Goebel escorted by Nicole Aderton, Brad Coleman escorted by Aubrey DeBerry, Gordon Schultz escorted by Stephanie Moreno, and Luis Flores Escorted by Gabby Ingram..
     The talent portion of the pageant showcased a lip sync performance by seniors Trevor Barry, Seth Cooke, Jeremy Phillips, and Ryan Phelan; a salsa dance by Edward Martinez and partner; a comedy act by Anthony Lambuth and partner; and original piano performance by Javid Johnson and partner; a football versus futbol competition between Juan Amaro, Keagan LeBlanc, and Andrew Simon; a lip sync performance by Jerrad Jefferson and David Hunter; a trumpet performance by Luis Flores; a guitar performance by Brad Coleman; and a skit by Darrell Hudson, Brandon Goebel, Gordon Schultz, and Austin Allen.
     The show’s mistress of ceremonies was Chelsea Stanley. Performers during transition periods were singing quartet Cloria Holloway, Anjanae Harvey, Charlie Terrell, and WHS choir teacher Cherith Wells. The crowning of Mr. Valentine was done by WHS Senior Class President Kimberly Eckermann. Judges were Brain Merrell, Sharon McReavy, Lisa Pierce, Jennifer Schroeder, and David Kaminski.
     The Mr. Valentine Pageant would like to give special thanks to Al’s Formal Wear’s Willowbrook location, Manager Russell Hodges; Executive Producers Kelly Baehren, Kenneth Epting, and Kim Seiley; Producers WHS Senior Class President Kimberly Eckermann, Vice-President Amy Beebe, Secretary Chelsea Stanley, and Treasurer Grabriel Ingram; Technical Director and Stage Manager Zachery Cooke, Set Directors Brian and Carrie Wood; Program Ramona Beebe; Production Assistants Crystal Hodges (Choreography), Lauren Jackson (MC Assistant), Ramona Beebe (Correspondence and Graphic Design), Sarah Stephenson (Interview Consultant); Committee Ramona Beebe (Back Stage Manager), Alice Stewart (Decorations), Trich Moellers (Box Office), and Tracy Pershall (House Manager).
      The show would also like to thank special guests Dylan Schroeder, Carmen Kosik, Gwyneth Kosik, Ariel Herrera, Wyatt Pershall, Justin Pershall, and Kaigen Vesmirovsky.
