FSE holds successful
“Jump Rope for Heart” event
Feb. 19-20 students at Fields
Store Elementary (FSE) jumped all over heart disease and stroke by
participating in Jump Rope for Heart. Students raised more than $7,800
for the American Heart Association.
Donations raised during Jump Rope for Heart will help fund research
to fight heart disease and stroke as well as support the American Heart
Association’s public and professional education programs. Heart disease
is the number one killer in America and stroke is number three.
“This year’s event was a huge success,” said Sharron Carpenter,
Jump Rope for Heart coordinator. “We’re very proud of all the jumpers,
and we all had a lot of fun.”
The top boy and girl fundraisers received a bicycle and a helmet,
donated by Wal-Mart Supercenter Cypress (Texas). They were Kimberlee
Davis who raised $260 and Cody Knight who raised $415.
Thank you to the supporters of this annual event: Wal-Mart of
Cypress and Hempstead, Subway of Hempstead, and the FSE PTO.
