Waller High
School Winterguard and Indoor Percussion Groups Finish Successful Season
March 29 Waller
High School’s Indoor Percussion Ensemble and Winterguard competed in the
Texas Colorguard Circuit (TCGC) Championships held at the Berry Center in
Cypress, TX.
The Winterguard, in its second year of existence, placed second in
their class (Scholastic Regional A – Red Division). Leading up to
championships the group had placed first at the Cy-Falls TCGC Competition on
March 15, the first gold-medal finish in the group’s history.
Members of the Wintergurad are James Faber, Jennifer Babin, Lauren
Jackson, Sami Prescher, Kyle Still, Deanna Gonzales, Megan Boneface,
Jennifer Villareal, Melissa Portillo, and Marissa Gorman.
The Indoor Percussion Ensemble, in its first year of existence, placed
third in their class (Scholastic AA Percussion). Leading up to championships
the group had placed first at the Cy-Fair TCGC Percussion Competition on
March 15, the first gold-medal finish in the group’s history.
Members of the Indoor Percussion Ensemble are Matthew Holub, Rozita
Castro, Darius Nash, Randallyn Kelso, Mariella Lopez, Ashley Burton, Noemie
VanWageningen, Victor Yap, Hanna Auble, Michelle Reay, Anthony Cerda, Josh
Garcia, Kolby Buchanan, Austin Nelson, James Faber, Marie Burke, Dorian
Nero, Woodie McClennon, Megan Winton, Nicholas Kaminiski, Tedi Hamner, Luis
Flores, Aaron Allen, and Shane Mays.
The WHS band program is incredibly proud of the amazing work these
student-musicians have done to achieve such great success! Congratulations
