TEA announces Gold
Performance Acknowledgements
Oct. 24, the Texas Education Agency
(TEA) announced 2006-2007 Gold Performance Acknowledgements (GPA) which
recognize districts and campuses for high academic performance on various
indicators. Waller ISD received 10 acknowledgements.
The District received two GPAs for Commended Performance in Social
Studies and Recommended High School Program. Waller High School received one
for Recommended High School Program and Waller Junior High received one for
Commended Performance in Social Studies. Schultz Middle School received two
for Commended Performance and Comparable Improvement in Reading. Roberts
Road Elementary received two for Commended Performance in Math and Writing
and Jones Elementary School received two for Commended Performance in
Reading and Math.
Commended Performance in a Reading/English Language Arts, Math,
Writing, Science, or Social Studies is determined by the percent of
examinees scoring at or above the TAKS commended performance standard.
Comparable Improvement in Reading/English Language Arts or Math is
determined by the Average Texas Growth Index in the specific TAKS subject
area.
Recommended High School Program is determined by the percent of
graduates meeting or exceeding requirements for the recommended or
distinguished achievement programs.
“We are extremely proud of the academic achievement of each of these
campuses and all Waller ISD students. I want to commend Waller ISD faculty
and staff for their commitment to educational excellence and WISD students
for their outstanding academic performance.” Waller ISD Superintendent
