- Nov. 14, 2006 a large group of community members gathered at Waller High
School where WISD Superintendent Richard McReavy shared the results of a
demographic study done by Population and Survey Analysts (PASA).
Following the meeting, three citizens’ committees were formed to
discuss:
- Financial Planning Committee
- Existing Facilities Planning Committee
- Capacity (enrollment, growth, and grade structure) Planning Committee
- During the months of Nov., Dec. and Jan. the committees met a total of 8
times and had multiple conversations with architectural and financial
consultants.
- Feb. 19, 2007, the citizens’ committees presented their final
recommendations to the Board of Trustees
- The Board met in special sessions March 1 & 7 to discuss the
committees’ recommendations and develop a facilities improvement plan
- March 11, 2007 the Board unanimously approved a $49,290,000 facilities
improvement plan to present to voters
- The vote will be held May 12, 2007

attended a recognized or exemplary school
- Last year, WHS students received over $1.8 million in scholarships
- WHS offers 44 hours of dual college credit classes

State-Recognized Drama Program
- In the Houston Area high school rankings, WHS received an upper tier
ranking
- WJH district UIL Academic champions
- WISD registered 185 prospective teachers at its first annual Teacher Job
Fair
- For the past 8 years, WISD has been named the safest school district in Harris
County by the Harris County Juvenile Justice Department
