Carol Bates became the principal of Jones Elementary School in June 2002. She had served as the Assistant Principal of Jones Intermediate School (fourth grade only campus) since 2001. Mrs. Bates came to Waller ISD in 1999 where she served as a fourth grade language teacher for the 1999-2000 school year. In the 2002-2001 school year, she served as Assistant Principal of Holleman Elementary School. Mrs. Bates came to Waller ISD from Hilliard Elementary School in North Forest ISD where she taught third grade self-contained classes (1991-1993), fourth grade social studies (1993-1995), and fourth grade language (1995-1999). During her time in North Forest ISD, she was named Hilliard Elementary Teacher of the Year; and she served as the Hilliard Elementary Houston Annenberg Challenge Coordinator and the Random Acts of Kindness Coordinator for the school. A native of Georgia, received a B.S. degree in Elementary Education from Texas Southern University and a Masters Degree in Supervision and Administration from the University of Houston. |
