Classroom guidance
Various
topics are presented to students depending on need of students and
recommendations by teachers. Possible topics include: study skills,
time management, test taking strategies, stress management, goal setting,
careers, self-esteem, peer relationships, conflict resolution, teamwork,
communication, stereotyping, problem solving, decision making,
responsibility, cliques, values, peer pressure, family, alcohol, drugs,
tobacco.

available in the cafeteria during lunches once a week to answer students’
questions, give information, or set up appointments

Group counseling
Building Blocks:
A review of basic study skills to improve academics.
Express Yourself:
An opportunity to work on social skills and relationship building
skills.
Friendship Circles:
An opportunity to work out problems between friends with the help of a
mediator.
Girl Power:
Lunch program for female students that focuses on social skills and
serves as a support system for girls.
Good Grief:
Support group for students who have lost a parent or sibling
Operation Roll Call:
Program in which students’ attendance is
monitored and incentives are given for good attendance.
Red Hots:
anger management group.
S.O.S.:
Support group for students who are being bullied.
Splits:
Support group for children whose parents have recently been through or
are going through a divorce.
STEP UP:
Support group for girls that focuses on social skills, self-esteem, and
body image.

Lunch program for male students that focuses on fostering a successful
transition into productive young men and building positive
relationships.
