WISD scores big win in state PR competition
February 2002
WALLER – The Waller ISD School Resources
Officers scored the biggest public relations win for the district at the 2002
Texas School Public Relations Association annual convention held in Austin
February 18-20. In competition with all Texas schools with populations of under
10,000 students, the Waller ISD Crisis Management Personnel Procedures
Manual, produced by the Waller ISD Harris County sheriff’s deputies and
WISD Administrative Secretary Bernadette Marsh, took a Gold award early in the
competition, then went on to receive the Best of Category medal for the field
during the TSPRA Star Awards banquet held on February 19.
Judges were particularly impressed with the
clarity of the information presented in the manual, its visual appeal, and the
creativity involved in the publication. The manual also received the judges’
highest rating for accomplishing its objective: “on a limited budget, create a
standardized, comprehensive, easy to locate, easy to use, crisis management
procedure for Waller ISD.”
