Hello everyone! My name is Brittany Murray and I have been at Turlington Elementary since 2013! This year I am teaching 5th grade science and social studies. I am so blessed to work in the best district in Texas and even more grateful to have the best job ever. Second to being with my family, the classroom is my favorite place to be.

I, myself, grew up in Hempstead, Tx and went to school there my entire life. After high school, I went to Texas A&M University and graduated cum laude with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Math and Science. WHOOOP! In 2019 I graduated from Lamar University with a Masters Degree in Teacher Leadership. 

I've been married to my high school sweet heart since 2013. Together we have three precious little boys: Camden, Calan, and Clay. Our boys are the light of our lives, it's hard to imagine what life was like without them. Becoming a mom has impacted every aspect of my life, especially my career. As a mother, I promise to love and care for your child as if they were my own while they are with me at Turlington.  

Many teachers have great stories about an educator whom impacted their lives and inspired them to do the same to others. While I do have teachers that have changed my life and are very near and dear to my heart, I knew by age 7 that I wanted to be a teacher. There is a specific joy that is felt when I am around children. My hope as a teacher is to give my students the same joy and happiness that they give me.   I plan on planting a seed for a love of learning in your child that will continue to blossom even after they leave Turlington Elementary.
