He grew up on the family farm just north of Prairie View and attended Holleman Elementary, Waller Middle School (now Schultz Junior High), and graduated from Waller High School (WHS) in 1995. Jeff’s family originally immigrated to the Waller County area in 1868 where they settled in the community of Shiloh. His great grandfather, Charles Flukinger, Sr., was a school trustee to the Shiloh School system prior to it being absorbed by Waller ISD (WISD) in 1930.
Jeff studied Business Management at Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University) and graduated with his Bachelor’s Degree in 1999. While in college, Jeff volunteered with the Big Brother outreach program, which partnered with local elementary schools in San Marcos. He also directed the Summer Work Camp sponsored by SouthSide Community Center, which renovated the homes of disadvantaged local families. Upon college graduation, Jeff began work in the commercial heating and air conditioning industry. He has served in various roles, such as project management, outside sales, as well as a partner in his own rep firm, which was later purchased by a larger corporation. Jeff now works as a team leader for Heat Transfer Solutions, focusing on large medical, laboratory, and higher education projects.
Jeff and his wife Sarah, who is also a WHS graduate, have been married for over 18 years. They have two sons, Jeff Jr. (Class of 2025) and Samuel (Class of 2028). Their children as well as nieces and cousins are all WISD students who are involved in various clubs and organizations, such as band, cheer, drill team, ag, and tennis. Jeff especially enjoys watching his children perform with the Bulldog Band at both the high school and junior high levels. The Flukinger family is often found at various events throughout the year supporting WISD students and staff.
