Dr. Guerra graduated from Waller High School in 2009. He then went to college at Wake Forest University in North Carolina, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Theatre and Women’s and Gender Studies in 2013. Dr. Guerra moved back home to Texas to be a theatre teacher in Splendora ISD at Splendora Junior High from 2013 to 2015. Here he served as the Fine Arts Department Chair for the 2014-2015 school year. In 2015, Dr. Guerra came home to Waller ISD to be the high school theatre teacher alongside Ms. Carrie Wood. At Waller High School, Dr. Guerra graduated with his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Policymaking from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2016, and graduated with his Doctorate of Education in Transformational Leadership and Professional Inquiry from Concordia University in 2020. In 2017, Dr. Guerra was voted teacher of the year by his colleagues, for Waller High School, and then selected as Waller ISD’s Secondary Teacher of the Year for the District. Dr. Guerra moved to Schultz Junior High to be an Assistant Principal in the fall of 2018 and proudly serves over the fine arts, Girls Athletics, G/T, UIL, the Electives Department, the Social Studies Department, the Dance Committee, the Attendance Committee, and the Sunshine Committee. Dr. Guerra has two sons-Daxton born in 2018 and Troy who attends Sam Houston State University. If Dr. Guerra can help you in anyway, please reach out to him.
