Meet the SJH Band Directors
Danielle Alice

Danielle J. Alice joined the staff at Schultz Junior High in the 2017-2018 school year. She grew up in Springtown, Texas just outside Fort Worth. After high school, Mrs. Alice attended Tarleton State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Music Education. At Tarleton, she was Drum Major for two years, earned the Centerstage Music Scholarship and was recognized by CBDNA as a member of the Small College Honor Band. A trumpet player in the Texan Bands, she performed through the world including Wimbley Stadium in England and St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Dublin, Ireland.
As the Head Band Director at Schultz Junior High, Mrs. Alice oversees all daily operations of the entire Schultz Band Program. Her teaching responsibilities include directing the Wind Ensemble in addition to the beginner trumpet, horn, euphonium, trombone and tuba classes. Prior to Waller ISD, Mrs. Alice taught for 17 years in Richardson ISD at Apollo Junior High and Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD at Harwood then Euless Junior Highs. Her bands in Richardson and H-E-B earned Sweepstakes Awards, Superior Ratings in Spring Festivals and her Beginner Bands have been named “Outstanding Band” at the Sandy Lake Music Festival.
Mrs. Alice has enjoyed serving as a middle school all-region clinician and adjudicator of various chamber festivals. Her professional affiliations include Texas Bandmasters Association, Texas Music Educators Association, and ATPE. She credits the many master teachers she’s had the honor of working with for her joy and success as a band director: Jerry Brumbaugh, Pete Tolhuizen, Robin Owens, Michael Brashear, Bob Straka, and Lynne Jackson. Danielle Alice and her husband, Michael, live in Cypress with their rescue dog, Dak. Though her family and Godchildren reside in the DFW area, they are never far from her heart.
Matthew Baggerly

Mr. Baggerly joined the Schultz Band staff in the 2019-2020 school year. He grew up in Temple TX and attended the University of Texas - Arlington for his undergraduate degree. He also received his Masters degree from Stephen F. Austin University. He proudly serves as the department head for the Fine Arts department at Schultz Junior High in addition to his band directing responsibilities.
Mr. Baggerly serves as the director of the Symphonic and Concert Bands as well as coordinating all the woodwind classes and curriculum at Schultz. Prior to coming to Schultz, he taught for 12 years in Richardson ISD, Melissa ISD, and Denton ISD. In his prior teaching positions, his bands have consistently earned superior ratings and UIL sweepstakes awards.
Mr. Baggerly's professional affiliations include Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, Kappa Kappa Psi, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. He currently resides in Katy, TX with his wife Allison and their two sons, Evan and James.
