• SJH Band

    Overview:

The Schultz Junior High Bulldog Band is classified as a CCC.  We are proud to have approximately 275 band students in our program.  The program is divided into four bands based on ability.

    Beginner Band

    • The Beginner Band is comprised of first-year band students primarily in sixth grade.  Prior experience is not necessary: each student goes through a fitting process to help determine the instrument on which the student will be most successful. Students receive instruction on fundamental tone, rhythmic concepts, and basic music reading skills to prepare them for one of three performing bands in their second year. Mrs. Alice’s beginner classes include the euphonium, French horn, trombone, trumpet, trombone, and tuba.  Mr. Baggerly's beginner classes include alto saxophone, bassoon, clarinet, flute, and oboe. Mr. Gatlin is the Percussion Coordinator for all of WISD and he teaches the percussion class.

    Concert Band
