Calendar Events in the Schultz Band

As band is a Performing Art, performances (concerts, recitals, contests, football games, pep rallies, etc.) are required and a grade. Communication of these events is most important.  We publish the calendar in August and you will receive a copy at the parent meeting in the beginning of the year.  Please input the events into your phone to keep track of events throughout the year.

Performances - To receive a 100 as a major grade in the gradebook, your child must be in “uniform” and arrive on time. Below is our expectation for dress at these performances:

• Football Game Attire - band shirt and jeans with tennis shoes
• Recitals - band shirt and jeans with tennis shoes
• Beginner Concert - band shirt and jeans with tennis shoes
• Performing Band Concert/Contest - Concert Uniform (black slacks, calf-length black socks, black dress shoes, black uniform shirt or white tux shirt w/black vest & bow tie)
• Pep Rally - band shirt
• Solo/Ensemble Contest (all bands) - boys: dress pants, collared shirt that is tucked in with a belt; girls: dress pants/skirt with a blouse or dress
