Relocation, Enrollment, and Registration

  • Enrollment and Registration
    Parents or guardians of students new to Waller ISD should complete the online registration process. Bring the documentation listed below in order to complete the registration process. Please bring the following items to complete registration:

    • Certified Copy/Official Birth Certificate
    • Social Security Card
    • Custody or guardianship documents relating to the student
    • Proof of residency (utility bill or lease agreement showing the physical address of parent or guardian)
    • Immunization/shot records
    • The most recent report card or grade transcript
    • Valid photo identification of parent or guardian

    For individuals who may be unable to fully access the online registration system, you may register in person. Waller ISD is happy to assist parents or guardians with the registration process.

    Pre-Kindergarten Eligibility
    To register for Pre-Kindergarten, eligible children must be four years old on or before September 1 of the current school year and meet one or more of the following qualifications:

    • Be unable to speak and comprehend the English language
    • Be educationally disadvantaged:
      • eligible to participate in the national free or reduced-price lunch program
      • eligible for SNAP/TANF, State Medicaid program is a participant in Head Start or Even Start
      • considered a migrant child.
    • Be identified as homeless as defined by 42 USC, §11434a
    • Is a child of an active duty member of the armed forces of the United States, including active duty uniformed members of the US Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, or Texas National Guard.
    • Is the child of a member, including the state military forces or a reserved component of the armed forces, who is injured or killed while on active duty or missing in action.
    • Has been in foster care in Texas or in another state or territory, if the child resides in the state of Texas
    • Is a dependent of an eligible Star of Texas Award: peace officer, firefighter, or emergency medical first responder
    • If the student was eligible to enroll for pre-K in the previous school year but did not attend or has yet to enroll in Kindergarten or if the child was eligible for a pre-K 3 program in the prior school year

    If a student has a parent in the US military, he or she is eligible for pre-K regardless of whether the student’s parents are married or where the military parent resides.

    Residency
    Students whose parent or guardian is an active-duty member of the armed forces of the United States may establish residency for the purposes of being enrolled in a school district by providing a copy of a military order that requires the parent or guardian to transfer to a military installation in or adjacent to the district’s attendance zone. Proof of residency must be provided within 10 days of the arrival date specified in the order.

    Immunization
    A military-dependent student or student coming from another Texas school may be enrolled for 30 days pending the transfer of immunization records.
