Texas Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children
Texas is a member state of the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children. The compact is an agreement among member states to abide by a common set of requirements related to the education of military children. They are entitled to continue enrollment at the same grade level, including kindergarten, in which the student was enrolled in the sending state regardless of the child’s age. Also, a child of a military family who moves to your district from another state that is a member of the compact and who has satisfactorily completed the prerequisite grade level (including pre-K) in the other state is entitled to enroll in the next highest grade level, regardless of age.
