Fields Store Elementary - Music Showcase

Music is a class where we use listening, movement, manipulatives and group centers to learn the basics of music. Each lesson includes all learning modalities. This ensures success for all learners. Music class is built around a wide variety of folksongs from different cultures and time periods. My lessons are inspired by Kodaly, Orff (instruments) and theory. The goals for all grades K-5^th is to develop musical skills: singing, playing, reading, writing, creating, improvising, describing and moving to the elements of music. These elements are: rhythm, melody, harmony, form (how the music is put together), expression, dynamics and texture. I love to find the best in all my students and provide a safe environment for them to be themselves. We learn how to connect all subjects to music.
