• Program Overview

    Through research it has been discovered that children with Dyslexia benefit from direct, intensive and systematic input from, and interaction with, the teacher. To this end Waller I.S.D. has implemented a rigorous intervention for students exhibiting dyslexia tendencies.

    Our program begins with early intervention. Once a child has shown to exhibit dyslexia tendencies we begin intense instruction in the areas of phonemic awareness, phonics, spelling rules, fluency training, and an enriched language experiences. Our program is a three year program with the students meeting four days each week for intervention with the Dyslexia specialist.
