Choral Reading

A read aloud that is done in unison with a whole class or a group of students.  Fluency, self-confidence, and motivation are all built when students participate in choral reading.

Guidelines:

This should be done when using a book that on everyone’s level of reading.  This should not be something that is done all the time, but just when you have some reluctant readers or readers who need help improving their fluency.  Always stay focused on comprehension and making sure that the students are just reading for fun, but they are also thinking about their reading while they read aloud.
