Instructional Materials Allotment (IMA)

Waller ISD is committed to ensuring that students and teachers have access to high-quality instructional materials and resources that support teaching and learning. The Instructional Materials Allotment (IMA) provides state funding to Texas school districts for the purchase of eligible instructional materials, technology, and other resources used to support the curriculum.

Instructional Materials in Waller ISD

The Department of State & Federal Programs oversees the district's instructional materials processes and works collaboratively with district departments, campus leadership, librarians, instructional coaches, and teachers to ensure instructional materials are available where they are needed.

Instructional materials may include:

  • State-adopted and locally selected instructional materials
  • Textbooks and digital instructional resources
  • Student consumable materials and workbooks
  • Teacher editions and instructional resources
  • Supplemental instructional materials
  • Other eligible instructional resources and technology

Managing Instructional Materials

Waller ISD maintains processes for ordering, receiving, distributing, inventorying, and managing instructional materials throughout the district. Campuses and staff share responsibility for properly maintaining district instructional materials and ensuring resources remain available for student use.

Some instructional materials are assigned directly to students or staff and must be returned at the end of the school year, upon withdrawal from the district, or when otherwise requested. Consumable materials are distributed based on student enrollment and instructional needs.

Access to Instructional Materials

Waller ISD works to provide students with access to the instructional materials needed for their courses and grade levels. Depending on the instructional program, materials may be available in print, digital, or both formats.

Families with questions regarding the instructional materials used in a particular class or course are encouraged to contact their child's teacher or campus.
