Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. Mel A. Daigle

Welcome to the 2017 - 2018 school year

My name is Mel Daigle and this will be my tenth year teaching ELA at Waller.  I have a son that will be a  senior this year, and I my first son graduated from Waller in 2012.  Interestingly, my grandmother graduated from Waller in 1935; consequently, I have had a generational relationship with the Waller community.  I have taught on level 9th and 11th grade, and I have taught advanced classes in both 9th and 12th grades.  I attended Rice University this summer, my third visit in ten years, to increase the rigor and success percentage of the English Literature AP class and my on-level classes as well.

Waller has a maintained a culture of cooperation among students, faculty, and support staff.   I will be accessible before school and after school for tutoring or interventions. Moreover, SETT will be an additional time period for students to get remediation or advance training.  I am here to serve my students.  I have a passion for kids and learning. Finally, it takes both parent and teacher working together to maximize each individual student's potential.
