Degrees and Certifications:

Kristen Eckerman

This is my 13th year in Education.   I hold a bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Texas A&M University.  I also received my Masters Degree in Administrative Leadership from Lamar University.  I taught second grade self contained for two years, fourth grade self contained for two years, and fourth grade Reading and Writing for five years.  During this time, I also served as a Master Reading Teacher, District ELA/R Curriculum Facilitator, and team leader.  I then transitioned into the role of Assistant Principal at Evelyn Turlington Elementary where I have been for the past three years.  For the 2018-2019 school year I have been transitioned into the role of Principal for Turlington Elementary.  I am honored and blessed to serve you and our students!

Both my husband and I have gone through the Waller ISD school system starting in Kindergarten.  We both are Waller High School graduates, class of 2001.  We have three children, our two girls are in first and fourth grade at Turlington Elementary, and  our boy will be turning two this Winter. We love all Houston sports teams (Go Astros, Texans and Rockets) and of course the biggest Fighting Texas Aggie fans as well.  I enjoy reading, anything competitive, and spending time outdoors with my family and friends.

I believe that all children can learn, but each learns in a different way and at a different rate.  I am a strong believer in hard work, dedication, and positivity.  The best part of my job is visiting with students and building strong positive relationships with them.
