My philosophy of education is that all children are unique and must have a warm, caring educational community where they can grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially. Every year, this type of atmosphere, where students can meet their full potential, is created in my classroom. I provide a safe environment where students are invited to share their ideas and take risks. My goal is to bring an open mind, a positive attitude, and high expectations to the classroom each day. I believe that I owe it to my students, as well as the community, to bring consistency, diligence, and warmth to my job in the hope that I can ultimately inspire and encourage such traits in the children as well. My classroom thrives on the love, warmth, and laughter that is present every day.
I currently teach 7th grade Reading/Writing. I am, also, the Yearbook Adviser, and I am a Student Council Sponsor.
I am a graduate of Sam Houston State University. I received my B.S. in Criminal Justice. After graduating, I realized that my passion was teaching, so I decided to get my teaching certificate. After receiving my certificate, I started work as a 6th grade Reading teacher in Katy. I worked for Katy ISD for 2 years before I realized that the big districts just weren't for me! I transferred to Waller in 2015. I have taught both 6th and 7th grade Reading/Writing. I have two children- a 4 year old and a 7 year old. My 7 year old is a 2nd grader in the district.
Please feel free to email me at any time. My email is firstname.lastname@example.org. I try to respond within 2-3 hours (unless it's after 9!).
