Mrs. PHYLICIA GLOVER

Welcome to Waller Jr High and Team ELA!!!  It is a pleasure and honor to serve as the Campus Reading Interventionist.  I am able to support Reading and Writing teachers in lesson designing and employing strategies to reach all levels of learners.  I am very passionate about working with reluctant and struggling readers.  I enjoy working with children and helping them reach for their dreams through education.  I believe every child should be valued and treated with respect.  An education should empower a child and help him or her make a positive contribution to our world.  I believe that each child is a unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically, and socially. It is my desire as a educator to help students meet their fullest potential in these areas by providing an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invites a sharing of ideas.

My husband and I have a beautiful family of two daughters and numerous 4-legged children. Both of our girls are products of Waller ISD.  Our oldest daughter is a graduate of Waller High School and is currently attending Sam Houston State University.  Our youngest daughter is a student at Waller High School.  My husband and I are both products of Waller County.  This has been our home since birth.  After graduating from Hempstead High School, I pursued a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a specialization in Reading from Prairie View A&M University.  I am very passionate about learning and pride myself on being a life-long learner.  In addition to my Bachelors Degree, I have obtained a Masters of Education in Curriculum & Instruction degree from Texas Wesleyan University and a Masters of Education in Administration from Grand Canyon University.  I have been blessed over the past 20 years to teach on all levels.  I have taught elementary, junior high, high school, and college level classes.

I look forward to working with you and your child this school year!
