Welcome to Pre-K

  • In pre-kindergarten, students are involved in a variety of hands-on and interactive activities to develop many essential social, emotional, physical, and academic skills. They have many opportunities to develop responsibility, independence and problem-solving skills. During the half day program, a pre-kindergartener listens to quality literature, develops good listening skills, oral language skills, pre-reading skills,  pre-writing skills,  mathematical understandings, healthy social skills, hand-eye coordination, and investigates and explores science.

The day is a busy one. The child works with the teacher in small groups and one-to-one, interacts with other students in centers, and actively participates in whole class language, reading, writing, mathematics and fine arts activities.
