Who can take a child to an appointment?
A parent/guardian may take their child to an appointment or they may appoint, in writing, an adult age 18 or older to bring the child with proper ID.

Where is medical info held and who has access to it?
HealthPoint uses a secure electronic health record system on its network used by all HealthPoint locations. Medical information is only accessible to HealthPoint staff.

Who actually uses the MedPod on the child? Who else is present at the time?
HealthPoint's on-site medical assistant is trained to use the MedPod, which connects the medical assistant and patient with a medical provider virtually.

Do the clinics offer flu shots?
No. HealthPoint does not keep any immunizations on-site at school-based clinics.

Do you have to make an appointment?
If the student is at home or being transported from a different campus to either school-based clinic at Holleman Elementary or Waller Junior High it would be best to call to find out what time to arrive.

How are the parents involved in the treatment of a student's illness at school?
Parents/guardians may come to their child's appointment in person or they can join the appointment virtually. To join the appointment virtually, parents/guardians are sent a link to join via MedPod connection where they are able to see and hear all interactions with their child and HealthPoint's medical assistant and physician. Parents/guardians may also elect a follow-up phone call to discuss details after their child's appointment.

Can a student make an appointment without their parents knowledge or permission?
No, minor children cannot make an appointment on their own.

How is HealthPoint financially backed?
HealthPoint operates financially from grants, payments from insurance, and payments from patients for services.

Can we have a list of what is not offered?
HealthPoint's school-based clinic services are limited to acute care for things such as fever, sore throat, ear pain, nausea, injury, etc. For additional information about what the clinic has available, please contact HealthPoint.

Is there a pharmacy delivery option available?
No, HealthPoint does not offer a prescription delivery service at this time.

Can we have a list of payment options?
Payment options are via statement from HealthPoint by check, credit card, or cash at the local clinic in Hempstead. Soon there will be an option to pay online.

If parents can opt to join the telehealth meeting, at what point are parents giving approval for care?
Parents will provide the approval for care over the phone and complete registration documents prior to the appointment being conducted.

Can I bring any of my children to a HealthPoint location?
Only current Waller ISD students may be seen at our school-based clinics. However, HealthPoint offers care to the general public at multiple locations. Find more HealthPoint locations here.

Can I pre-register my child for HealthPoint?
Yes! If you think you will want to utilize HealthPoint for your child at any time, pre-registration is encouraged to expedite your service. Find the packet here.

Can my child be seen if they attend any Waller ISD school?
Yes! All current Waller ISD students are eligible for care at the school-based clinics. Call 979.977.6395 for an appointment.

I am a Waller ISD staff member. Can anyone in my family use the school-based HealthPoint clinics?
Current Waller ISD staff members may utilize the school-based HealthPoint clinics for themselves or anyone who resides within their household. Please call 979.977.6395 for details and to make an appointment.

Is the clinic open to the public?
No, the clinic is open to students, staff, and the staff’s household members. If anyone else would like to be seen at a HealthPoint clinic, they should make an appointment at another location.

Is HealthPoint free?
No, however, HealthPoint accepts all major insurances, CHIP, Medicaid, Medicare, and has eligibility specialists available daily. HealthPoint also offers an incomeābased sliding fee scale for those who do not have insurance. For more information call 979.977.6395.

Where is the Holleman Elementary clinic?
Check-in at the main office of Holleman Elementary located at 19455 Stokes Road, Waller, TX 77484 and a staff member will help you to the HealthPoint clinic.

Where is the Waller Junior High clinic?
Check-in at the main office of Waller Junior High located at 1915 Locust, Waller, TX 77484 and a staff member will help you to the HealthPoint clinic.

Are the clinics open on professional development and work days?
Yes, the staff will be available at clinic sites on campus any time staff/faculty and students are present for required days of attendance for Waller ISD.

Are the clinics open during summer school?
Yes, hours and location may be adjusted based on needs.

What if I need a translator?
Translation services including ASL will be available to obtain written consents and registration documents.
