Welcome Waller Junior High Principal Binal Patel
Waller ISD’s (WISD) Board of Trustees approved Binal Patel as the new principal of Waller Junior High (WJH) during its regular meeting on Monday, June 13. Patel was selected after campus input and an interview process that included campus and district staff. She is a veteran educator with 16 years of experience in education and a resume that showcases her leadership in both academics and discipline.
Patel joined the WISD family in 2019 as an assistant principal at Schultz Junior High. She was promoted to school improvement officer in 2021 where she helped facilitate teaching and learning by combining student data analysis with professional development to better meet the academic needs of students. Her leadership is also highlighted in her experience as a Brazos County Juvenile assistant superintendent, Bryan ISD (Rudder High School) assistant principal, and Hearne ISD (Hearne Elementary) assistant principal/testing coordinator.
“I am honored and excited for the opportunity to continue serving the Waller family as the new principal of Waller Junior High,” Patel said. “I believe in collaborative leadership and learning, and I am committed to working with our students, teachers, and parents to achieve great things in the classroom and beyond.”
Patel is an approachable and personable leader who will establish a campus culture with high expectations and accountability for all.
“I want the WJH community to know that I will focus on relationships, consistency, and fairness. It is so important for teachers, staff, students, and parents to feel valued by listening and relating to them,” Patel added.
Her background includes work with special education, district-wide planning, campus improvement planning, professional mentoring, and research and data management at all levels including elementary, junior high, and high school. She began her career as an elementary classroom teacher.
“Ms. Patel brings a package of expertise in academics and discipline that will bring a new look and feel to Waller Junior High,” WISD Superintendent Kevin Moran said. “She’s friendly, knowledgeable, consistent, and committed to our family. I’m excited to see the culture she builds in the WJH community and within the construction of the new building.”
Patel earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas A&M University, her Master of Education from Lamar University, and also holds her Superintendent Certificate.
