Gates Selected as Director of Accountability, Assessments, and CCMR
Waller ISD (WISD) is pleased to announce the selection of Hannah Gates for the role of director of accountability, assessments, and college, career, and military readiness (CCMR). Gates has served WISD since 2018 as the principal at Schultz Junior High and has more than 20 years of experience in education.
“We are thrilled to have Hannah join the Curriculum family,” WISD Chief Academic Officer Kelly Baehren said. “She has a knack for being able to understand and interpret student data to help support our planning for curriculum and instruction districtwide. I know the skills she brings will be advantageous to our principals and teachers and ultimately positively impact our students.”
Before joining the WISD family, Gates served as a high school math teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, and associate principal. In addition, she was a successful post-secondary math instructor. Gates’ experience as a campus administrator, combined with her expertise in data analysis, makes her the ideal candidate to fulfill the duties of her new position, which include leadership in accountability and compliance, testing and assessments, and college and career readiness.
“A piece of my heart will always be at Schultz, but I am excited to have an opportunity to be a part of the Curriculum team and to help all students in the district through this position,” Gates said. “I know what our principals balance every day, and my goal is to help them by providing additional information and guidance that they don’t always have the time to do. We’ll work together to know our students’ needs better than ever and, in turn, help our teachers and students.”
Gates earned her bachelor’s degree in Secondary Mathematics Education and master’s degree in Educational Leadership; both from Northern Arizona University. She and her husband, Brock, are residents of WISD. The pair have two children who attend WISD schools.
