Dear Parents/Guardians:

Believe it or not, it’s time to start planning for the 2025-2026 school year. For your child, this will mean a transition from elementary school, to 6th-grade life in junior high. This is an exciting time for students, families, and our staff and it is critically important to connect with you in order to help your child be prepared for what school will look like next year. 

Please join us for 5th Grade Family Night on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025, at 6 p.m. in the auditorium at the junior high where your child is zoned to attend next year. 5th Grade Family Night is an informational event for those entering 6th grade next school year. We will discuss key information about junior high and junior high course selections. Junior high course selections are due on Friday, Jan. 31, 2025.  

On Jan. 15, 5th-grade students will visit the junior high where they are zoned to attend to meet the counselors for an introduction to junior high and tour the school where they will attend next year. During the visit, your child will receive a bag that includes a copy of the Waller ISD Junior High Course Offerings & Descriptions Booklet along with details for completing their 2025-2026 course selections. Please ask your child about their session and begin familiarizing yourself with the information before 5th Grade Family Night. The family meetings will help you work with your child to complete their course selection. 

We look forward to partnering with you to make the transition to junior high as smooth as possible and help ensure your child’s success. If you are unable to attend 5th Grade Family Night and have questions, please reach out to the counselor at the junior high where your child is zoned to attend.

Noche Familiar de 5to Grado: Una Introducción a la Secundaria - 21 de enero 

Estimados Padres de Familia/Tutores:

Lo crea o no, es hora de comenzar a planificar el año escolar 2025-2026. Para su hijo, esto significa una transición de la escuela primaria a la vida de 6to grado en la escuela junior high. Este es un momento emocionante para los estudiantes, las familias y nuestro personal, y es sumamente importante conectarnos con usted para ayudar a su hijo a estar preparado para lo que será la escuela el próximo año.

Únase a nosotros para la Noche Familiar de 5to Grado el martes 21 de enero de 2025 a las 6 p.m. en el auditorio de la escuela junior high a la que su hijo está asignado a asistir el próximo año. La Noche Familiar de 5to Grado es un evento informativo para aquellos que ingresan a 6to grado el próximo año escolar. Discutiremos información clave y la selección de cursos de junior high. La selección de cursos de junior high debe entregarse el viernes 31 de enero de 2025.

El 15 de enero, los estudiantes de 5to grado visitarán la escuela junior high a la que están asignados para conocer a los consejeros, realizar una introducción a junior high y recorrer la escuela a la que asistirán el próximo año. Durante la visita, su hijo recibirá una bolsa que incluye una copia del manual de cursos y las descripciones que se ofrecen en las escuelas junior high del distrito de Waller, junto con detalles para completar sus selecciones de cursos para 2025-2026. Pregúntele a su hijo sobre su sesión y comience a familiarizarse con la información antes de la Noche Familiar de 5to Grado. Las reuniones para la familia lo ayudarán a trabajar con su hijo para completar su selección de cursos.
