Waller ISD (WISD) students had an incredible week at the Waller FFA 70th Annual Livestock Show and Auction. #WISDgreatness was on full display as students adapted to freezing temperatures and the new normal due to COVID-19 health and safety precautions. Students showed their dedication by working countless hours at barns tending to livestock, and preparing plant and agriculture mechanics projects.
“We want to give a big thank you to the Waller ISD administrators for helping us move this show along,” FFA advisor Ralph Stokley said. “Our leaders worked together to make sure this show went smoothly and have given these students a chance to really showcase their hard work and dedication.”
This year, Waller FFA had 73 students who showed at least one project and eight students who showed two. There were 23 first-year FFA students who participated in the show. FFA was also proud to recognized 17 seniors who exhibited for the last time at the Waller FFA Show: Cody Baxter, Travis Denton, Olivia Elizalde, Krystin Garrett, Garett Hauser, Trinity Kieschnick, Kaleigh LeBlanc, Abigail Neff, Madeline Neff, Austin Owens, Amber Pesky, Jenna Rice, Lilly Rinehart, Madelyn Wawarofsky, Alicia Williams, and Parker Wilson.
“Watching our students in the ring is something that our Ag teachers enjoy just as much as the parents,” Stokley said. “Getting to see them and all their hard work pay off is indescribable. Not only do we get to see how well they take care of their projects, but we get to see the students grow as individuals themselves.”
To date, Waller FFA students have earned $144,873 and students are still reporting numbers. The FFA program is also led by advisors Heather Jackson, Riley Webb, and Justin DiIorio. Congratulations to Waller FFA on another successful show, and thank you to buyers for supporting WISD students.
