WHS Opens Opportunities at College Night
During College and Career Week, Waller High School (WHS) hosted its annual College Night for students to explore future opportunities. During the event, representatives from 38 colleges, universities, technical schools, and military branches were available to answer questions about admission, financial aid, programs, and other resources. Families also had the opportunity to complete FAFSA applications with the help of Blinn and Lone Star College FAFSA advisors and attend a presentation on setting up a Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID from Texas A&M representatives. College Night was arranged by WHS Counseling Center, led by Lead Counselor Tamara Zingelmann and Secretary Cristal Wallace. “This is a way to bring parents and students together to decide the next chapter in the student’s life and help them get familiarized more with the schools and what they offer,” Wallace said. “Some families may not have the means to visit every school their child's heart desires. This way we can bring the colleges to them!”
