In celebration of Manufacturing Day, employees from the Daikin Texas Technology Park hosted a Career Day at Waller High School (WHS) in science classes on October 3. This is part of an effort to highlight the importance of manufacturing to the United States economy and educate students about the outstanding opportunities a career in manufacturing can provide.

“Daikin kindly reached out to us about the Career Day opportunity for the high school,” PK-12 grade Science Coordinator Kathy Eckermann said. “We jumped at the opportunity for our students to hear how what they learn in the classroom is applied in the real world.”

Throughout the day, students learned about the company and career paths that led the presenters to Daikin. Students also asked questions about education requirements, job opportunities, and what they love most about working for Daikin.

"If you get into the HVAC industry, you can move anywhere and there will always be career opportunities for you," Daikin Team Member Guillaume Laquerre said. "No matter where you go, HVAC is the same and in high demand so there is no limit to what you can achieve.”

Manufacturing Day is an annual national event supported by thousands of manufacturers that host students, teachers, parents, job seekers, and other local community members at open houses, plant tours, and presentations designed to showcase modern manufacturing technology and careers.
